Don’t put pressure on Akufo-Addo – Shatta  Wale Controversial dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has warned Ghanaians not to put pressure on President Akufo-Addo to deliver on his campaign promises. Highlife legend Paapa Yankson has  died Highlife legend, Paapa Yankson has died, a family friend has confirmed to Joy News. The 73-year-old who had been ill for some time died in his sleep at his Dansoman residence in Accra, Friday. Fancy  Gadam ,  Sarkodie  perform ‘Total Cheat’ for the first  time Singer, Fancy Gadam performed his infectious new single “Total Cheat” for the first time at presenter Angel Town’s birthday party which came off at the Vienna City Night Club in Tema over the weekend. The energetic performance, which saw Sarkodie join the 2017 VGMA Best New Act onstage, witnessed rousing cheers from patrons gathered, including high-profile colleagues as Akwaboah, Medikal, King Promise among others. “Total Cheat” is off Gadam’s Mujahid album, which was launched to a record crowd at the Tamale Sports Stadium about a week ago. BET has just announced Wizkid as Winner of the Best International Act – Africa Award in a special ceremony held in Los Angeles, beating off stiff competition from Davido, Mr Eazi, Tekno, Stonebwoy, Nasty C, Babes Wodumo and AKA. It’s the Starboy’s 2nd win in this category, first taking home the award (alongside Sarkodie) back in 2012. Musician Kwaw Kese has in a shocking revelation said he sold some of his VGMA awards last weekend in a show of protest against the declining value of Ghana’s biggest night in the music industry. He was pictured pushing a wheel barrow containing all his VGMA trophies with inscription "Awards for sale" looking fierce in black leather jacket and trousers. Kwaw Kese said in a newspaper interview that he sold his awards for GHC2,500 with the exception of the Artiste of the Year award which he said was pegged at GHC250,000, way too high for interested buyers. “I managed to sell some of the awards on Saturday and although I did not have a fixed price, I sold them depending on the condition in which the awards were,” he told Graphic Showbiz. “The plaques that were in good condition went for a higher price while those that were cracked or chipped sold for much lower, ” he said. A board member of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Nii Ayi Tagoe, has disclosed that rapper Medikal, had only 13 votes for New Artiste of the Year at the 2017 awards. According to Nii, who made the revelation on the Starr FM’s ‘Morning Zoo,’ the general public that seemed to have shown support to Medikal prior to the awards, did not really vote for him. “The people who made noise for these artistes on social media didn’t really go out to vote. Medikal had 13 votes from the general public for the New Artiste of the Year category,” he said.
